Boy Group | Being An Expert | Wk 2
Our second session of “Being an Expert” focused on flexibility and how important it is to be able to confront challenges and frustrations with a perspective of adaptability.
We spent a large part of our time together “doing”. Each Boy received a pile of Legos and were asked to build an item by following printed instructions. The catch? The instructions (sometimes recipes, sewing patterns or an Ikea bed, a toilet, campfire or ship, etc.) had nothing to do with the Legos. How can we build when we don’t have all the pieces? How can we move forward when we are being asked to do the impossible? It was fun to watch the Boys figure out how to create something from nothing.
The Boys loved the challenge and were highly creative, adaptable, and just “rolled with it."
They went above and beyond by not only building a taco – but a taco truck, not only a bed, but an entire bedroom. They had a chance to reflect on how much they enjoyed the challenge and how much they want to bring flexibility to the areas of their lives that are difficult.
As always please feel free to reach out with any questions! We hope to see your Boys in our next workshop on Sunday, 4/29 where we'll spend our time on the topic Giving Permission to Our Feelings. Details below!
And a quick plug! Got Girls?! Check out the Girl Group Summer Camp promo happening now. Refer a friend who signs up their Girl for summer camp and your Girl gets a FREE fall series. It's a pretty sweet $240 deal!
All my best, Mike
